To all my brothers and sisters leaving the military. when choosing the right company ask questions. there answers will tell you alot about the company that wants to hire you. there are alot of companies out there that support you and what you have done for your country and will help you in every way they can. alot of veterans returning home are wounded in many ways and can still drive a truck or any thing else they desire to do. but you still need treatment maybe monthly or every couple of months for what ever reason. companies like schnieder support the Soldier 100% if you need time off for a doctors appointment they give it to you no questions asked. however if you worked for a company like Melton Truck lines for a day off for a doctors appointment at your local Veternas Hospital it better be on your day off with 2 weeks notice.
Melton does not support the troops or wounded warriors coming home from the war. they are intrested in one thing and one thing only and that is keeping there wheels rolling bringing in the revenue. as a veteran of the Iraq war and a Master Sergeant i can tell you i have worked for both companies and bar-nun Schneider leads the way with Respect to it's wounded warriors for that matter all veterans. don't make a huge mistake and work for anyone who will not stand behind you 100%. remember, some gave all, and some gave none. Well that's the difference here in Schnieder and Melton. one more thing, Melton is firing people weekly for idling thee trucks, now there is a simple solution to this and that is to install generators on all trucks, that maybe happening but at a very slow pace, it's easier to fire a driver that has the need or urge to stay comfortable in his cab when it's 95 degrees in el paso. the company loves to threaten you from the 1st day walk through the door. this type of unproffesionalism you do not need.
